Hello!
June 2nd, 2008
Hello, I am Sarah and this is my very first post on our group blog and Melanie said I should post a poem that I wrote, it’s not the best but it is one of the good ones that I have done.
“The Secret Valley” By: Sarah Hall
What would you say if I told you of a secret valley I once knew.
With grass so tall and grass so short,
and flowers and tree’s of all sorts.
I went there when I was glad,
I went when I was sad,
and I went in weather good or bad.
I went there when I was lonely and didn’t know what to do,
I went there with my friends, both old and new.
And then one day there was bad news,
I would have to make a move.
From one part of the country to the other I would go,
and never come back? Well, I just didn’t know.
And when the last day came, it suddenly started to rain.
It rained all day, and rained all night,
until the early morning light.
Then when it was time,
we said it will be fine,
to say good-bye until next time.
And when we got to our new home,
I started to look for a place of my own,
and as I looked what should I find,
a secret valley that was mine.
With grass so tall and grass so short,
and flowers and trees of all sorts.
The birds were singing,
as if bringing,
a message from our Lord, saying,
“Never be sad, always be glad,
and never be in want,
for I will be making and creating,
yes I tell you it’s true,
a secret valley just for you.”
Well thats it, I hope you liked it, and please tell me what you think. Thanks!
~Sarah

Hay Sarah! (I figure since you like horses so much I should spell it ‘hay’ instead of ‘hey’.)
Just wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed reading this poem again. You captured the sadness and excitement of moving in God’s will so beautifully.
May He bless you dear sister.
Love, Melanie

Anyways, it was a beautiful poem and fits y’all’s situation so perfectly.

That is really good! Are you planning to do something involving writing when you grow up, or are you just naturally good at poetry?

Well, actually I want to be a barrel racer when I grow up! And I guess I am ok at poetry, this is actually one of my best ones so far but if I write any more good ones I will post them.

Hmm, a barrel racer. What else should I have expected from a Hall?

Sarah!!! That was great! The first stanza made me feel like I was there, and then I was horrified with the idea of leaving. But the last gave hope!!!!
Absolutely beautiful…
Will we get to read more samples of your talent?

That was a great poem Sarah, you really did a good job.
The good thing is that God isn’t confined to one place, so no matter where you move he will be with you and bless you

Hey! I didn’t know my daughter is a poet!
I really enjoyed reading that and I’m not big on poetry. Of course I am really happy to hear that you are seeking God’s beauty wherever you are. Love you, Dad

Wow, that’s really nice. Your words bring the emotion through powerfully. Keep it up!
We all miss all the Halls – hopefully we’ll get up that way and see your new valley someday.
Mr. Einkauf
